Speaker Biography:
Good food and good fun will be at the top of the agenda – we’ll
hearken back to 1969 for our soundtrack and hold a trivia contest
that will pit table against table. Trivia questions will also test
your RIM knowledge, so be on your toes.
Attendees are invited to dress in their best 1960’s attire – you
don’t have to, of course, but if you do, you just might win the best
(?)-dressed contest. Other prizes and giveaways await you as well.
Enjoy an evening of socializing with Chapter members – past and
present. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet our ARMA
Northwest Region representatives. We'll be swearing in our new Board
of Directors, so you'll be able to give them ideas for next year's
programs.
As part of our Chapter's efforts this year to support the Oregon
Food Bank, we will also be having a silent auction featuring baskets
of fun 1960's movies, posters, music and assorted groovy goodies!
The evening will be loosely based on the following agenda:
o 6:00 – 6:45: reception, mingle, music, bar
o 6 :45 – 7:30: buffet dinner
o 7:30 – 8:00: formal welcome, speeches (short), installation of
new officers
o 8:00 – 8:15: final bidding time for silent auction
o 8:15 – 9:00: trivia contest
o 9:00 – 9:15: best-dressed nominations and voting
o 9:15 – 9:30: prizes awarded; silent auction winners announced
o 9:30 – 10:00: mingle, say good-byes, call it a night
If you’re coming from a long distance or just want to enjoy the
McMenamins experience the next day, consider staying overnight.
Rooms are $75 plus tax – 10 rooms have been blocked for ARMA
members. Call 503-666-8610 no later than April 30th to reserve your
room. That is the deadline for our block of rooms, after that they
will be releasing the rooms to the general public for reservations
and they cannot guarantee space will be available.
If you're not familiar with McMenamins Edgefield, there is much to
enjoy. On the grounds, you will find a plethora of diversions.
Enjoy the fine-dining restaurant, classic pub, numerous small bars
and colorful summertime grill. For liquid refreshment you will enjoy
handcrafted ales, wines, spirits and aromatic houseroasted coffees
created by McMenamins.
Sports lovers will appreciate the golf course and there is an onsite
spa with soaking pool. Everyone will love the extensive gardens,
onsite glass-blower and pottery maker, extensive artwork everywhere,
recent-run movie theater, live music concerts and the Edgefield Gift
Shop abundant with treasures from the Pacific Northwest and the
world over.
